Blog Dots, Some FAIL

  • I got tired of writing about my big mouth as it relates to my congregation. I sure do like the hair-pats and "atta-girl"s, but I am not crazy about the situation there. Can't we all (meaning all of us at St S) just do ministry together instead?
  • Yesterday we left the doggie home by himself for too many hours. FAIL.
  • He did what he needed to do, but he did it all on the rug by the back door, which is washable, for which he got "Good boy!" and a cookie.
  • I have a "to file" pile on my desk downstairs at the home office which is (literally) 14 inches high. FAIL.
  • Tonight is opening night of WonderGirl's final high school play. I knew this weekend was eventually coming, but I tried to push the thought from my mind. FAIL.
  • In 1981, my senior year, I played the female lead in my high school play. The play was "1984". In 2009, her senior year, WG will play the second female lead in her high school play. The play? "1984". I know.
  • WG wrote a song (for guitar) in which the hook line is "I love drama club, but now it's over, I can have a life!"
  • Did I mention that she has only been playing for about a month, and already has really impressive calluses? She plays about 2 hours a day.
  • She also has written a song about Cylons, "I Wanna Be Your Six." I have no idea what that means. FAIL.
  • I really, really need a pedicure. Last night my feet were snagging on the sheets. Yuck.
  • We recently became a family that tries to live in both worlds. Yes. Spouse bought a Mac Mini. Or is it Mini Mac? Either way. We are working our way up to being able to use the Mac products in anticipation of buying WG a lappie for college. Plus, he really likes gadgets. I have yet to try it. I feel stupid enough on most days without the added layer of new technology.

I think that is so cool about the play.

You are able to still see the bright side of things. Pass!

concerned over the repeated use of FAIL... hmmmm.... mmmm... grrrr....

i think some positive reinforcement is in order... pedis; 1 dove chocolate with a nifty message like 'hug someone today'; and a glass of wine after the play to celebrate your daughter's fabulously inherited drama skills!

I'm with Hot Cup here - forget the "fail" stuff and go for the chocolate and wine to celebrate WG's drama accomplishments!

Hey, spring is coming! I mean, it is bitter here, but Kris swears up and down that she just saw FOUR robins at her place. Woo HOOOO!

I think I will be visiting St. Stoic on the 22nd. I will try to be on time! :-) I may have colored my hair by then but if I did I will warn you. LOL!

A Cylon Six is...sultry...sexy...thin and blonde. Hmmmm...

I am going to take that work "FAIL" and re-purpose it for you:

"LIAF" pronounced Lye-aff. As in "Life" with a pronounced southern accent.

"FILA" - pronounced phonetically as spelled, as in "File" with an Italian accent: "I'm a hopin dat da pediacurist willa fila your toenails a justa righta before applyin' da polish."

"LAIF" pronounced Lah-uff. As in "Laugh", again, with a pronounced souther accent.

Use all three if you wish. Repurposing services provided at no charge to the calling party.

Well, your Six is like Barbie. She is an angel, a rebel, a diplomat, an engineer, a pilot...all those things and more. Also sexy. So take that as you see fit.

I like your description of Six, Songbird. I don't think WG is overly concerned with "traditional" sexiness. Nor blondeness.

And y'all need to lighten up on the use of the word "fail". We all fail at stuff. My success:fail ratio today is actually pretty good.

And my toes are looking spectacular, if I do say so myself...:)

Hmm, sounds like your feet and mine were in the same shape. Pedis make so many mehs feel better.

Your "to file" pile is related to my thesis book pile. We may fail in terms of getting things filed and put away, but I suspect it means we do a whole bunch of stuff, which is not a FAIL in my book. Of course, I may simply be explaining away my own stuff, and bringing you along for the ride...

The play - how awesome! She really does sound like an amazing girl.

Macs. Way cool. Someday, I'll get one. In the meantime, the iPod is a great confort to me. They do know how to come up with cool products.

My new diet plan is to allow myself a pedicure for each five pounds I lose. Suffice to say my toes is still bare. Sighing...

People keep telling me I will lvoe becoming a "Mac Girl" instead of a PC Lappie.
I guess it is better to be called a Mac Girl than a Bond Girl.
So cool WG is in 1984!
Tell her to break a leg!

As for switching to Macs, you will be pleasantly surprised at how easy it is! Macs are far less likely to make you feel stupid that pcs.

I'll second the pro-Mac talk: right now my new MacBook lappy is firing away at home while the brand-newish PC Desktop is having major issues with the new wireless.

As to Six, well, it depends on your Six. There was super-bleach Six who continues to haunt Balthar's dreams, Brunette Six who died on Galactica after chasing down a human-Cylon hybrid baby...

Oops. Think my inner geek got out a bit there. Sorry. He's safely stowed away until the final BSG next Friday night. :-)

For the record, I'm also in favor of the occasional FAIL laugh. It happens.

FAIL? No way. Run out of ramp... possibly.

Hugs for you... for a bad day.

Mac-land is a wonderful place. Not that difficult to transition to. If you use office products... you might want to purchase office for Mac. It does make the transition easier... especially if you are mailing products to people who are on a PC... and need to update whatever it is you send them. If you have more questions... holler.
